Notice: I presume people will want to use the SDM as a basis to go rabbit hunting. When we get there, I want to talk to someone that isn't a fairy.

Yeah, clearly reading the characters (if that's what they are) is more than a matter of having keen eyesight. If they're overlaying each other, even super-keen eyesight isn't enough. I'm sort of hoping that some magical method may be able to extract what they say, as long as someone knows what to look for. If Patchouli is still inaccessible and/or busy working on this incident from another angle, I think we should at least relate this to Byakuren. If she doesn't know a method that could scry this, she may know how plausible the existence of one is, at least.

Also, while we're here, we may want to get Nazrin to try that dowsing strategy I mentioned at the Circle meeting, assuming she actually knows of something at Eientei distinct enough to dowse for.

I'm not banking on her succeeding, but she might have another idea.

The dowsing thing is worth asking about, yeah.

>"Not too badly," she says.
>You make your way out, and exit the city as quickly as you can, noting there are a few more plumes of smoke from the southern parts of town that you didn't notice before. The town is still subdued, and none of the smoke plumes seem to suggest currently raging fire.
>Leaving the city behind for the isolation of the tunnels, you keep your eyes open for any of the residents there. You don't see any signs of the mugger, you get the feeling that she is probably hiding until things cool down.
>As you make your way back to the web chamber, you listen, but don't hear any sounds that are out of place.

>Oh well, you tried.
>You leave the web chamber, head out the tunnel, and return to the surface.
>Things are quiet now. There's little activity in the forest that you can see and practically nothing in the way of lights, only a distant one near the lake shore. Still, you imagine that silence is deceptive, neither faeries nor youkai let things so minor as sunset tell them what to do. Especially with a full moon up in the sky.
>You make your way toward Kourindou, and land near it to find the lights on; hidden from above by the forest canopy. It seems almost sinister at night, with all of the assorted old furniture around it casting long shadows and creating curious shapes in the darkness.

>You note that a few people are in the store, one being a small pink-haired sparrow youkai whose angry ranting greeted you as you entered, gesturing wildly as she practically shouts at an impassive Rinnosuke. You remember Mystia, she runs the food stand not too far from here. As well, there curious green-haired youkai in short pants and a cape, standing by one of the shelves and looking at Mystia with her mouth hanging open a little.
