So! I woke up this morning, stepped outside and found a package from
Canada. It was already opened, of course, because toll authorities in this country will open anything larger than a business envelope. And, because they answer to no one, they won't even make the polite pretence of re-sealing it again. But anyway, opening my opened package, I gasped with joy to find the following:

This was really thoughtful! It will adorn a place of pride in my studio. And what's this?

Holy shit a BILLION DOLLARS!!! Canadian dollars, but still! Man, what am I gonna buy fir- oh wait! It's actually chocolate. Even better, as I happen to be desperately craving chocolate at this very moment and
The chocolate is for Yulia
Well, she won't miss what she never knew she had, right?
J/k, that is a really "sweet" gesture to think of my child that way. The rest of the card was really lovely, too. I have to admit that my joy is marred by guilt, as a series of crushing and unpredictable financial set-backs have compelled me to send my gift in three weeks' time. I'll make it up to you, recipient, I promise you that!
Now to find a spot for my new Aya ...
