> Chuckle a bit.
> "Oh my, I'm afraid I do not recognize some of those terms. My personal dealings traveled little outside Japan, China, and Korea. I wonder if it would be too conceitedly hedonistic to prefer to research how history views myself? Hmm...I think I would like to see what this New World has to offer, please."
>She nods as you reach the front doors, and opens the for you. "This way, please."
>Heading inside, you come to a sizable main hall. Two stairways curl up toward a massive balcony made of dark wood, lined with crimson banners that dangle below. Several marble statues line the hallway, their style and flowing garments foreign and quite exquisitely detailed; you would almost think them to be people made of stone, were it not for the lack of details around their eyes. Lush carpets cover large sections of the floor, bearing intricate geometric patterns that seem to subtly hint at a deeper meaning; you ponder if they do represent some kind of geomancy you have not yet seen.
>You barely have time to look around before the maid takes you to the western doors. Then leads to a long corridor, its walls made of slightly red panels of wood, their edges elaborately carved. On the southern side are numerous large windows, bordered with scarlet curtains. A couple faeries scurry about, dressed much like your guide, sweeping at the floor. The look up at you curiously, but look back down upon their work once they notice the maid. She leads you past several sets of hinged wooden doors, before coming to the last ones upon the Northern wall, which she opens.
>"The gallery is just inside," she says.
