>Why do you serve? Because even with silly jaunts such as this aside, you feel that Yuyuko is a person worthy of such devotion. Despite her seemingly erratic nature, she is a person who is at once cunning and deeply caring, which is a flower worth shielding from the evils of the world.

> Follow that mounted knight!

>You follow Meira she walks the horse through the woods. This area, you note, is a bit less crowed than the rest; with very little undergrowth. She says nothing during the trip. Within a couple mines, you enter a somewhat cleared out area dominated by a large garden, full of various crops. Shady trees stand here and there; particularly clustered around a large house, with two notable wings flaring out from a central part. Not large enough to be called a manor, it still is a class above most houses in the human village. However, you note that some of the wood in the walls is in rather bad repair, Here and there, you note that roof tiles are missing, and many are mismatched. The left wing has a window that has been blocked off with a board, and the roof is noticeably sagging there. The yard, where there is no garden, is fairly worn and has a number of straw dummies and cut bamboo stalks scattered around, all having seen use and littered with small severed scraps around them. You think you can see the hint of  a bamboo garden behind the house, peaking over the roof. A crude lean-to rests against the more functional wing of the house, ust some spare wood with a blanket thrown over top. Meira makes her way toward it and ties the horse to a pole there.  "Let me take care of this," she says. "Then we'll head inside."

>She leads you into inside. You walk into a fairly sizable front room. The walls are decorated with hanging scrolls, many yellowed with age or bearing small rips and tears. Other spots on the wall are conspicuously bare. An empty armor stand rests in one of the bare spots. There is a sword rack near the door, with several blades of varying sizes resting on it, as well as a couple of wooden and bamboo practice weapons. A sizable kotatsu dominates the floor. in reasonably good condition, with some clutter on it.  Some paper screens are place near doors leading to other parts of the house, likely to create something like a hallway effect. You note the screens are also fairly old; one has a notable hole near the bottom where someone stepped through it.  The left door, you note, is closed and seems to have some cloth jammed underneath. A few paper lanterns hang from the ceiling, discolored near the top.
>"Have a seat," says Meira, gesturing toward the kotatsu as she heads toward the right door. "Just clear off any junk the way. I'll be right back." As she disappears into the neighboring room, she calls out, "Anything you want with it?"
