I'd be surprised if the PrismReznors were trying to pull a fast one. They're pretty, uh, let's say "simple" in this universe. I doubt they have the capacity to concoct such a lie with straight faces that quickly.

My money is on that it was a rock.  Besides, even if it wasn't it's not like the Prismrivers would have anything to gain by dropping a rock through their own roof.  No one seems to go out that way, so I doubt it was an attack.

Well, the neat thing about mistakes in this quest is that we can blame them all on being distracted by the circumstances. :V So don't worry about it too much.
